GRAMMY®-nominated recording artist Machine Gun Kelly, also known as mgk, is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road with the release of his latest music video for “goddamn.”
Directed by Sam Cahill, the visual takes a cinematic yet documentary-style approach, following mgk through different moments of his Lost Americana tour across Europe. Instead of a highly staged production, the video captures candid moments of the artist walking through venues, moving through backstage areas, and preparing to hit the stage alongside his band.
The result feels less like a traditional music video and more like an authentic snapshot of tour life — showing the quiet moments before the chaos of a live show begins.
The track itself was written, produced, and performed alongside longtime collaborators SlimXX, BazeXX, Nick Long, and No Love For The Middle Child. “goddamn” leans into mgk’s rock influences while reflecting on impulsive decisions, personal experiences, and the lessons that come with them.
The release comes as mgk continues his ambitious Lost Americana tour, which has been making its way through arenas and amphitheaters across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia/New Zealand, with dates running through July.
The tour has already received strong praise from critics and fans alike. One outlet described the performance as “a masterclass in arena-rock showmanship,” adding that the Lost Americana tour feels less like a comeback and more like a victory lap for the artist.
The momentum surrounding the tour follows the success of Lost Americana, which marked mgk’s third consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart.
Outside of music, mgk has continued making headlines. Recently, he attended Paris Fashion Week alongside his daughter Casie, appearing at the Stella McCartney show.
Earlier this year, he kicked off 2026 with the release of his single “times of my life,” which has quickly become a fan favorite during his live performances. In late November, he also teamed up with the Jonas Brothers for a remix of his hit “cliché,” a song that became a cornerstone of the Lost Americana era.
The original track arrived with a standout music video, also directed by Sam Cahill, featuring choreography from Sean Bankhead, known for his work with Usher and Tate McRae. The song also later received a stripped-down piano version titled “cliché (sad version).”
With the new “goddamn” visual, mgk continues to expand the world around Lost Americana, offering fans an unfiltered look at the moments that happen before the spotlight hits.
