Directed by Sam Cahill, the cinematic visual incorporates the massive Statue of Liberty stage set from mgk’s ongoing, arena-conquering lost americana tour, along with electrifying footage from the live show. The result is a larger-than-life experience that mirrors the emotional scale of the record itself.

A fan favorite both on streaming platforms and on tour, “starman” captures mgk’s relatable struggles with fear and escapism, reimagining the iconic chorus of Third Eye Blind’s 1997 alternative hit “Semi-Charmed Life” in a modern context. The track was written, produced, and performed alongside longtime collaborator Travis Barker — who also provides drums — in addition to SlimXX, BazeXX, Nick Long, and No Love For The Middle Child.

Blending new wave glow, pop-punk urgency, and explosive rock energy, “starman” has quickly become a sing-along moment during the tour.

After a brief winter break, the lost americana tour resumed in Europe and is set to return to the U.S. on May 15 in Wheatland, CA, before wrapping July 1 in Ridgefield, WA.

The “starman” video follows January’s release of “times of my life,” a reflective look at lost love originally drafted during the Tickets to My Downfall sessions. Ahead of the tour, mgk also unveiled the Tickets to My Downfall (All Access) anniversary edition, executive produced by Travis Barker, featuring five previously unreleased tracks that extend the spirit of the groundbreaking album.

Upon release, lost americana debuted in the Billboard 200 Top 5 and marked mgk’s third consecutive No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. In late November, he teamed up with Jonas Brothers for a remix of the album’s hit “cliché,” which also received a choreography-driven music video directed by Cahill and featuring choreography by Sean Bankhead.

With the release of “starman,” mgk continues to expand the lost americana era — delivering arena-sized visuals, genre-blending anthems, and a creative evolution that keeps fans locked in.
